Towards the end of 2009 Baileys Blinds were asked by Mr Everetts to recover the awning outside their new sweet shop located on the Angel Hill in Bury St Edmunds. Mr Everetts changed to a darker colour to freshen up the shop front.

Baileys Blinds removing the old awning cover on Mr Everetts in Bury St Edmunds

Working from ladders Baileys Blinds replaced the shop awning cover while leaving the awning mechanism in situ. The new awning cover is made from acrylic fabric which is sewn into strips due to the large area covered by the awning.
The awning is extended and retracted manually from outside the shop using a long pole. When fully extended the awning will give protection from direct sunlight and reduce the heat gain from the sun inside the shop.

Mr Everetts black shop awning on Angel Hill, Bury St Edmunds installed by Baileys Blinds.

If you prefer melted chocolate ask the people in Mr Everetts to leave their shop awning retracted.
For information about shop awning recovering or if you have any queries concerning any type of window blinds contact Baileys Blinds through www.baileysblinds.com.

Baileys Blinds supply and install Dutch canopy style outside blinds to both domestic and commercial customers in Bury St Edmunds, Brandon and Suffolk.

Dutch canopies give sun protection to windows and shop fronts. The Dutch canopy only provides protection to windows but does not project far enough to shade an area for a table and chairs.

The awning consists of a rigid hinged frame, is covered in acrylic fabric which can be sign written with lettering or a company logo. Dutch awnings are fully retractable and are operated with a cleated cord.

At the Bury fish and chip shop in St Andrews street, Bury St Edmunds you can eat your fish and chips in the restaurant on the premises. The owners asked Baileys Blinds to install two awnings to provide shading for the restaurant during the mornings.

Hoisting the awning

Bury chippy

Motorised cassette awnings on Bury Chippy

Baileys Blinds suggested remote control motorised awnings which enclose the fabric in a cassette to protect it from the elements when it is not required during the winter.

The awnings had to be positioned up high on the shop front. They were too heavy to lift by hand so we used our awning hoist to manoeuvre the awnings into position, to be bolted onto the shop front using chemical fixings. The Somfy electric motors were connected to the power supply before the awnings were extended for the first time.

Thanks to the motorised cassette awnings supplied by Baileys Blinds the diners at the Bury Chippy in Bury St Edmunds can now enjoy their meals sheltered from glare and heat from the sun.
