Baileys Blinds use a high tech computer controlled Technolight TS 2000 machine to make the slats for our vertical blinds.
The TS 2000 cuts, punches and welds a top and bottom pocket and automatically inserts a hanger into the slat. The finish is very neat every time and the machine allows Baileys Blinds to cope with either very large or small quantities of vertical blinds.

The TS 2000 uses ultrasonic welding technology. Baileys Blinds can manufacture vertical blinds in black out PVC material which does

not have unsightly stitch marks for the top hanger or bottom pocket.www.baileysblinds.com.

St Edmundsbury Borough Council have refurbished some areas of Chalkstone Community Centre. The central area of the building and the committee room have been tidied up and redecorated. Sue Norman, the caretaker at Chalkstone treats the blinds with tender love and care which is reflected in the pristine condition of the vertical blinds. Baileys Blinds have supplied Sue with stabilising weights and chains which she uses for minor repairs to the vertical blinds on a self help basis.

Greenview needed vertical blinds installed in the boardroom and roller blinds in their large meeting room. Baileys Blinds supplied vertical blinds and roller blinds made in Carnival flint fabric which toned in with the buildings internal colour scheme. Greenview needed a dim out fabric for the roller blinds in the large meeting room to allow the screen to be seen during presentations. Baileys Blinds installed Carnival to provide the level of shading required by Greenview. Carnival is also flame retardant and machine washable.

Vertical blinds were fitted in most of the rooms. They were made using Guardian fabric from Louvolite which is flame retardant and washable. Flame retardant fabrics are normally used in public buildings.

The french doors in the building open inwards. Baileys blinds installed 25 mm venetian blinds fitted into the glazing bars inside the doors. The venetian blind slats are tilted using an acetate wand and lifted and lowered with cords. The 25mm venetian blinds are narrow enough to allow the doors to be opened fully without damaging the venetian blinds.

The flats were to be completed on 26 September 2009 and Baileys Blinds completed the installation of the blinds on time as agreed.
When I visited her house the papillons started making a terrible noise so she left me in the conservatory and went into the house to calm the dogs. After I had finished she ordered the new vertical blind slats and we agreed a date to fit the blinds.
The dogs started to bark again so I asked to see them. She led me to the the kitchen where the sight of so many small dogs reminded me of the film Gremlins.

Most of the time we have use right angled extendable face fix brackets to fit vertical blinds in conservatories.

The brackets have to be long enough to allow the vertical blind slats to be clear of the window handles when they are fully open. The vertical blind bracket is screwed into a nylon gromet which allows the blind positioned closer to or further from the window as required. This feature is useful when we need to run vertical blinds into the corners in conservatories.

The flats above the Arc in Bury St Edmunds are now being snapped up by ‘buy to let’ landlords. Baileys blinds have installed vertical and velux blinds in several of the new flats. The top floor flats have a kitchen, dining and lounge area with one bedroom. The windows need dressing because they look directly into the flat opposite.
There are two sloping windows in the main living area. Baileys Blinds have already installed sloping vertical blinds in some of these flats. The sloping blinds rotate but the slats do not traverse across the window. It is possible to make sloping vertical blinds that traverse windows but we have found that when they are roughly handled the links which connect the slats break and the slats collapse to the bottom of the tracks. We therefore lock the blind slats in position which allows them to rotate but not traverse. Some landlords do not like this but Baileys Blinds have found this to be the most practical solution.

The image shows the sloping vertical blind in Guardian beige fabric with 89mm slats rotated into the closed position. You can see the flat opposite through the open sliding balcony door. You can contact Baileys Blinds in Bury St Edmunds and Brandon through www.baileysblinds.com

They move into a new house with existing vertical blinds or redecorate or just get fed up with the colours and want a change. Its very easy and relatively cheap to do assuming that the vertical blind track mechanism is still working because you are only paying to change the fabric.

We prefer for you to provide us with a sample slat as a pattern for the dimensions and to make sure that slat hangers on the new vertical blind slats will be compatible with your track mechanism.

The building has been constructed using what looks like rough sawn timber and provides a contrast to the adjacent modern buildings of the `Bury Strip`. Its a great location but there is no car parking provided.

It has been built to provide affordable homes for residents in Bury St Edmunds. We fitted some vertical blinds in one of the one bedroom flats. They have a kitchen, dining and lounge area with an en suite bedroom. Next week we are installing some vertical blinds in the two bedroom flat next door.

Guide wires have been incorporated about one metre from the external walls of the building. Wisteria vines have been planted which will over time grow up and along the guide wires and cover the outside of the building. Apparently the wisteria will not cover the windows and darken the inside of the building. It should look great when the vines eventually grow over the outside.
