Carnival fabric from Louvolite is flame retardant, washable and has dim out properties which provide shading and uv protection in commercial and domestic blind installations. The hot pink colour shown in the images gives a warm pink glow in the conservatory.

The roller blinds are fitted on the conservatory doors. The fabric just covers the glass and runs up and down behind the door handles.

The roller blinds are moved easily and smoothly up and down by a chain operated sidewinder. All of the brackets and components are manufactured in white. The fabric is mounted on 28mm diametre aluminium tube which will remain straight in the heat of the conservatory unlike cheap fibre tube which will warp.

Towards the end of 2009 Baileys Blinds were asked by Mr Everetts to recover the awning outside their new sweet shop located on the Angel Hill in Bury St Edmunds. Mr Everetts changed to a darker colour to freshen up the shop front.

Baileys Blinds removing the old awning cover on Mr Everetts in Bury St Edmunds
Working from ladders Baileys Blinds replaced the shop awning cover while leaving the awning mechanism in situ. The new awning cover is made from acrylic fabric which is sewn into strips due to the large area covered by the awning.
The awning is extended and retracted manually from outside the shop using a long pole. When fully extended the awning will give protection from direct sunlight and reduce the heat gain from the sun inside the shop.

Perfect fit blinds clip into place and will appear to become part of the window frame. They can be easily removed to allow the conservatory windows to be cleaned.
Perfect fit blinds do not clutter the window sills and are particularly suitable for tilt and turn windows in conservatories.

Baileys Blinds were asked by St Edmundsbury Borough council in Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk to replace the blackout roller blinds in the ballroom of The Athenaeum on Angel Hill.
Baileys Blinds removed the existing black blackout roller blinds and replaced them with white blackout roller blinds.(Blackout blinds do not have to be black).
We had to be very careful of the chandeliers while moving our ladders around the ballroom. Ivor had the idea of offering a chandelier cleaning service to the council. I would only agree if Ivor would be Dell Boy.

Overlooking St Edmunds House in Ipswich through Baileys Blinds venetian blinds.

Church looking through venetian blinds in Grimwade Street, Ipswich.
Baileys Blinds from Bury St Edmunds and Brandon, Suffolk, have just installed vertical blinds and 25mm venetian blinds in nine flats in Ipswich, Suffolk, built for M&D developments.
Vertical blinds were fitted in most of the rooms. They were made using Guardian fabric from Louvolite which is flame retardant and washable. Flame retardant fabrics are normally used in public buildings.
The french doors in the building open inwards. Baileys blinds installed 25 mm venetian blinds fitted into the glazing bars inside the doors. The venetian blind slats are tilted using an acetate wand and lifted and lowered with cords. The 25mm venetian blinds are narrow enough to allow the doors to be opened fully without damaging the venetian blinds.
The flats were to be completed on 26 September 2009 and Baileys Blinds completed the installation of the blinds on time as agreed.

Roman blind mounted on internal door

Roman blind in raised position.

Detail of roman blind.
Roman blinds are made of soft fabric which is divided into horizontal panels and is raised and lowered using a gear chain mechanism.
Roman blinds can be mouned inside or outside window recesses or on doors as shown in the image.
When Roman blinds are raised the panels do not retract fully and one length of fabric is left hanging. This may be a problem in bathrooms because the top vent window will be partially blocked.
Baileys blinds of Bury St Edmunds and Brandon supply and install roman blinds in Suffolk. You can view roman blind samples in our window blind showrooms in Bury St Edmunds and Brandon. You can find our contact details on www.baileysblinds.com

Dutch style outside blind installed by Baileys Blinds in Bury St Edmunds

Ivor fitting Dutch style canopy shown in the retracted position
Baileys Blinds supply and install Dutch canopy style outside blinds to both domestic and commercial customers in Bury St Edmunds, Brandon and Suffolk.
Dutch canopies give sun protection to windows and shop fronts. The Dutch canopy only provides protection to windows but does not project far enough to shade an area for a table and chairs.
The awning consists of a rigid hinged frame, is covered in acrylic fabric which can be sign written with lettering or a company logo. Dutch awnings are fully retractable and are operated with a cleated cord.

At the Bury fish and chip shop in St Andrews street, Bury St Edmunds you can eat your fish and chips in the restaurant on the premises. The owners asked Baileys Blinds to install two awnings to provide shading for the restaurant during the mornings.

Hoisting the awning

Bury chippy

Motorised cassette awnings on Bury Chippy
Baileys Blinds suggested remote control motorised awnings which enclose the fabric in a cassette to protect it from the elements when it is not required during the winter.
The awnings had to be positioned up high on the shop front. They were too heavy to lift by hand so we used our awning hoist to manoeuvre the awnings into position, to be bolted onto the shop front using chemical fixings. The Somfy electric motors were connected to the power supply before the awnings were extended for the first time.
Thanks to the motorised cassette awnings supplied by Baileys Blinds the diners at the Bury Chippy in Bury St Edmunds can now enjoy their meals sheltered from glare and heat from the sun.
