Caring For Your Blind

VERTICAL BLIND HEADRAIL

Under normal conditions the vertical headrail will not require lubrication. Occasional spraying with silicone based fluid such as a proprietory furniture polish will maintain easy operation.

THE SLATS

Vacuam occasionally. Dirty marks may be removed by wiping with a lightly moistened cloth, using a mild detergent/warm water mixture.

WASHING INSRUCTIONS FOR MACHINE WASHABLE VERTICAL FABRICS

IMPORTANT Please read these instructions carefully before proceeding

PREPARATION

Before removing the slats from the track unclip the chains at the bottoms of the slats and slide out the weights. Unlock the slats from the track taking care not to crease them.

Lay the slats, one on top of the other, on a flat surface. The top hem of each slats should be placed just below the top hem of the slats underneath. The edges of the slats should all be in line with each other.

Starting at the top, tightly roll up the slats. Make sure that there are no creases and that the edges of the slats stay in line. If the finished roll is over 8″ (200mm) in diameter divide the slats into smaller sets.

Place an elastic band or tie a tape around the roll to hold it firmly. However care must be taken to ensure that this band or tape does not distort the fabric.

DO NOT IRON

Hang the slats on the track and replace the weights and chains. In the unlikely event of a loose thread at the edge of a slat do not attempt to pull it out.Trim it neatly with a pair of scissors.

WASHING

Place one roll only into a bottom corner of a pillow case. Knot the case so that it holds the roll securely.

Place the case in the washing machine. Only one roll must be washed at a time.

Set the machine to the wash cycle for ‘woollens’ and cancel the final spin. If in doubt a gentle wash with three rinse cycles is recommended. The water temperature should be 40°C. Use a proprietary detergent in the quantity specified.

DRYING

Stand the roll, still secured by the band, on its end to allow any excess water to drain away. After an hour undo the roll, re-insert the weights and hang the slats out of direct sunlight and allow them to drip-dry. They should not be hung in direct sunlight until they are perfectly dry.
